The best method to get around in Richelieu is usually a car. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is very difficult in this part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically within walking distance. It is difficult for people travelling on foot to get around in Richelieu since very few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.


Some, but not all, property owners in Richelieu will live within walking distance of the nearest grocery store. There are also around 10 restaurants and cafes in this part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area. Regarding education, there are only a few primary schools in Richelieu and therefore they can be a rather long walk away. Furthermore, this city does not have any high schools.
