Travelling by car is very convenient in this neighbourhood. Parking is generally easy, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway, such as Autoroute 573, from any location in Val-Bélair. In contrast, travelling by public transit is very hard in Val-Bélair. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and it is easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Val-Bélair is not very conducive to those who travel by foot because very few common errands can be run without the use of a car. Getting around by bicycle is also sometimes difficult in this part of Québec as there are quite a few hills. Nevertheless, some bike-friendly areas can be found, and the cycling infrastructure is good.


Daycares are easy to walk to from any location in Val-Bélair. In contrast, families may consider it difficult for their kids to access primary schools and high schools as pedestrians. As far as food is concerned, a portion of house buyers in this area may be able to reach the closest grocery store on foot, while others will need a vehicle. Residents can enjoy around 20 restaurants and cafes as well.


Val-Bélair is good for those who need quiet surroundings, as the streets tend to be peaceful - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially close to Autoroute 573 or Autoroute Henri-IV. Parks aren't well-located, making it occasionally challenging to get to them. Despite that, there are about 20 green spaces close by for residents to check out, like Base de plein air La Découverte and Parc de La Chanterelle.
