In contrast, this area is not an especially pleasant part of Markham for moving around by public transit. Nevertheless, the closest rapid transit station, including Hwy 7 / Woodbine, Hwy 7 / Allstate and Hwy 7 / Montgomery on the purple | VIVA PURPLE, is generally within walking distance from most houses in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. Buttonville is not very bike-friendly because there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Buttonville, although carrying out daily needs is easy.

It is a reasonably short walk to reach schools and daycares from most houses for sale in Buttonville. Regarding food, it is easy to reach the nearest supermarket on foot in this part of Markham. Buttonville offers a reasonably good selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to discover and they are very well-located, making them easy to reach. Lastly, as there are few pedestrians, this area remains relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 407, Highway 404 or the airport (YKZ).
