The majority of houses for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. However, Donevan is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily a short walk away. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Donevan, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a car.
Services
Reaching the closest grocery store on foot is possible for some, but not all, property owners in this part of the city. A small variety of restaurants can be found in Donevan as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will welcome the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from the majority of homes for sale in this area. However, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools.
Character
Donevan is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. Green spaces are easy to access, since most properties for sale have one that is very easy to reach and there are approximately 20 parks nearby for residents to explore. This part of Oshawa is also good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially close to the railway line or Highway 401.
