Central is a fairly pleasant part of Oshawa for pedestrians; carrying out daily needs is easy by walking. Travelling by public transit is occasionally difficult in Central. Nonetheless, there are around 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. However, cars are a very good medium of transportation in this part of the city. Nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to drive to from any location in Central, and it is convenient to park.

It is easy to get to the closest grocery store on foot from any home in this part of Oshawa. Likewise, this area is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a rather short walking distance. With respect to education, daycares and schools are convenient to reach on foot from most properties for sale in Central.
Character
Central offers a calm ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Parks are very well-situated and there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in, making it very easy to access them. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the railway line or Highway 401.
