Transportation
Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in this neighbourhood. Most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 407, and accessing a place to park is generally easy. In contrast, the public transit service in Alton is rather limited. Nevertheless, property owners have access to about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally just around the corner. This part of the city is reasonably bike-friendly since the cycling network is good. Alton is not particularly well-suited for those who travel by foot because few daily needs can be met by walking.
Services
The nearest supermarket in this neighbourhood is usually only a reasonably short walk away. Residents can enjoy approximately 10 restaurants and coffee shops as well. As far as education is concerned, families will find that wherever their house is situated in this part of Burlington, both primary and secondary schools are close by. However, there are only a limited number of daycares and accordingly they can be an extended walk away.
Character
The character of Alton is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This area is quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case near the railway line or Highway 407. Lastly, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to visit and they are very well-distributed, resulting in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations in this neighbourhood.
