Travelling by car is especially convenient in Shellmont. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 99, from anywhere in this area, and parking is generally easy. In contrast, Shellmont is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by about 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally just around the corner. It is impractical for pedestrians to navigate this part of the city as few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Although there are a limited number of slopes, Shellmont is also not especially cycling-friendly as the bicycling network is rather poor.
