Departure Bay is very car friendly. It is very easy to find a parking spot. In contrast, this part of Nanaimo is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Walking is not very feasible for house buyers in Departure Bay since most daily needs are sometimes challenging to meet without having to resort to a vehicle.
Services
It is a rather short walk to reach daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this part of the city. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Departure Bay. When it comes to food, a portion of property owners in this neighbourhood may be able to travel to the nearest supermarket on foot, while others will have to use a vehicle. Departure Bay offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.
